He was born Markus Magro. But the world knows him as Mark Masguro—a name that has become synonymous with a lifelong devotion to rhythm, culture, and electronic soundscapes.

Born to a Sicilian father and an Austrian mother, Mark’s passion for music sparked early. In the vibrant 1980s, he immersed himself in breakdance and electric boogie, mastering the art of DJing with turntables. His heart gravitated to the underground pulses of Italo Disco, Rap, Hip Hop, Hip House, and Acid House. As the 1990s unfolded, so too did his journey: Trance, Goa, and Techno became his language, and his first home recording studio was born.

From Engineering Beats to Building Culture

For seven years, Mark worked as a sound engineer with a Swiss hip hop label, shaping projects that pushed the boundaries of European rap. Among them was a groundbreaking milestone: the first Swiss women’s rap tape. His technical expertise and creative sensibility made him an integral part of the region’s evolving sound.

In 2008, Mark pressed pause to start a family. But the music never left him. By 2014, he was back behind the decks—this time as a Goa DJ, spinning his energy into the mystical forest gatherings of Switzerland.

A Setback That Sparked a Rebirth

December 2023 changed everything. A leak in the water cooling system destroyed his motherboard, erasing the MP3s of his DJ mixes. Years of passion seemed lost in an instant.

But what could have been an ending became a revelation. The original tracks and compositions were salvaged. It felt like fate. A wake-up call. The message was clear: It’s now or never. Share the music with the world.

A New Beginning

In January 2024, Mark Masguro unveiled his debut single, “Who is this.”
February followed with “Get Down,” a track streaming exclusively on his website. Both singles carried the spirit of his past and the vision of his future, introducing his artistry to a new global audience.

Now, all eyes are on August 6, 2025—the official release of his debut album, B-Emo. A record built on the ethos:

“To be Emotional is not a Suggestion. It is the Lifestyle.”
