Writer and director Sebastian Sommer has revealed that not one, but two sequels to his 2024 hit fantasy movie ‘Dragon’ are officially in development with production company Infinity Lens. Dragon, which premiered earlier this year, quickly gained a cult following, sparking conversations about its style and narrative structure. The film was acquired by Future Today in early 2025 and is streaming on VOD.

“Dragon was always envisioned as the first chapter of a larger, mythic narrative.” Sommer said in a statement. “The sequels won’t just continue the story but they’ll deepen the labyrinth. We’re pushing further into the metaphysical and the fight between good vs evil, completing a trilogy.”

‘Dragon’ first emerged as one of the first Al assisted independent films to secure widespread distribution in 2025. Premiering on YouTube initially, it quickly amassed over 100,000 views and was picked up for distribution by streaming platform Future Today, capturing attention for its distinctive style and personal vision.

Though plot details remain tightly under wraps, Sommer confirmed that the upcoming sequels will expand the film’s universe in both narrative scope and visual experimentation. Sommer has also revealed that the upcoming sequels to ‘Dragon’ will be called ‘Dragon: Bloodline’ and ‘Dragon: Fireborn Legacy!
