Mitch Jones Launches Interactive Twitch Game Show That Puts Viewers in the Action

For over a decade, Mitch Jones has adapted alongside the rapidly-changing creator economy. After rising to online fame during Twitch’s early years through World of Warcraft broadcasts, he became one of the pioneers who helped turn livestreaming into something bigger than gaming. Today, Jones is taking another major step forward, investing in high-end interactive productions that combine elements of classic television with the real-time engagement that only livestreaming can provide.

Jones first found his audience by connecting with viewers in an authentic way during Twitch’s formative years. Instead of treating streaming as a one-sided broadcast, he had genuine conversations with his community. That eventually led him beyond gaming and into real-world content, where he and his late friend Byron “Reckful” Bernstein helped popularize IRL streaming years before it became one of the platform’s most popular categories. Since then, Jones has consistently reinvented his content to keep pace with an industry that changes almost daily. As livestreaming expanded into mainstream entertainment spanning travel, sports, education, and lifestyle content, Jones saw change as an opportunity to innovate, and his latest venture reflects that mindset.

Working from a custom-built production studio in Los Angeles equipped with professional lighting, LED walls, broadcast-quality infrastructure, and a live audience stage, Jones has begun producing large-scale interactive game shows that are a unique combination of traditional television and online entertainment. His first major production, a “Deal or No Deal”-inspired competition streamed live on Twitch in July, was the beginning of what he hopes will be a new category of creator-led programming.

“Our first high-production game show was just streamed on Twitch, and it was able to blend the world of film and livestreaming in a unique way,” Jones said. “We didn’t just film it in front of a live studio audience and do in-person giveaways, we let the chat play as well and pick their own mystery prizes of up to $10,000 per giveaway, which ended up being $65,000 won by my Twitch chat alone.”

Unlike traditional television, where viewers simply watch events unfold, Jones designed the production so online audiences became active participants. The Twitch chat was not limited to commenting on the show, it directly influenced the experience through live interactions and opportunities to win prizes alongside those on stage. And that level of participation is what Jones believes is livestreaming’s greatest advantage over conventional media.

Additionally, the productions reward the community that has supported Jones throughout his career. Over the years, he has given away more than $14 million to viewers through various broadcasts, making community engagement one of the defining aspects of his brand.

“A big part of the vision is using these productions as an opportunity to give back to my community, while still creating something that’s new, fun, unpredictable, and entertaining to watch,” he explained.

The debut game show featured fellow longtime creators Sodapoppin, NMPlol, and Bean as contestants, streamers Jones has collaborated with for more than a decade. Their reunion caused excitement amongst fans while demonstrating the type of creator collaborations Jones plans to continue as future productions become increasingly ambitious. He expects the guest list to extend well beyond Twitch personalities, saying, “There are so many talented streamers I’d love to collaborate with, especially people I respect and think would be a great fit for these productions. At the same time, I’m also excited to work with creators and personalities from outside of the streaming world.”

Bringing together people from different industries is extremely important to his long-term goals. Jones sees his Los Angeles studio as a creative space where internet personalities, entertainers, and public figures can collaborate on projects that would not typically exist within either traditional television or livestreaming alone. Independent creators now have access to tools that were once reserved for major television networks, allowing them to produce broadcast-quality content while maintaining the audience interaction that made creator platforms successful in the first place. For Jones, the same concepts that helped him build an audience years ago (community, experimentation, and genuine interaction) are still at the center of his work. The difference is that those ideas are now being delivered through productions that rival traditional television.

As the television, digital media, and creator content merge, Jones’ interactive productions provide a glimpse into what the next generation of entertainment looks like.
